Treatment Plan Day 8
Today's treatment plan focus will be on physical health, what to discuss with a doctor, and how diet, exercise, hygiene and appearance, impact emotional health and well being.
The last thing a person with bipolar or anxiety disorder may be concerned with the physical aspects of their health. Although with some anxiety disorders such as
OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
the person's attention to physical health could be taken to the extreme, and can become all consuming.
In either case, this has an incredible impact on that person's mood.
Today, I would like you to read the
Body page
of this website, and follow the instructions and links on that page.
If your problem is too much focus on physical health, I still think it would be advisable to read this page, and discuss the things listed with your doctor.(if you have not already been to your appointment) or if you are unable to see a doctor right now, write yourself a physical health plan that you and the people that care about you feel is appropriate.
Try not to be too rigid or complicated. Work out a plan that you can easily follow.
Remember to do your journal entry, and try to include, feelings you had throughout the day and why you had them, and list any situations where you used or could have used cognitive therapy or relaxation techniques.
Do your relaxation techniques before you go to sleep.
At this point of plan, things may be starting to feel complicated or overwhelming to you.
Remember that this is YOUR treatment plan, and you can take it at your own pace. There would be no harm in going back a day or two and and practicing some of the things you have already learned before moving on.
It may in fact be of great benefit to you. So please... if you feel overwhelmed, take it slow.
If you feel the need to contact me for anything, please do. I can't guarantee that I will get back to you right away, but I am here to help, and will do my best.
All I ask is that you don't insult me or my website. I am doing this to help people, and will welcome constructive criticism. But please do your best to be kind about it. I too have bipolar and anxiety disorders, and will be forced to block all contact from anyone that insults me or my work.
