Treatment plan day 6

Your goal for day six of this treatment plan will be to learn about, and practice cognitive behavioral therapy.

If there were such a thing as a therapy that works for everyone, this would be the closest thing to it.

Step one will be to read the cognitive therapy and Thinking habits pages on this website.

After you have read those pages, Do the Cognitive exercise. Doing this will help you learn how your own self talk effects your mood, and how to challenge any distorted beliefs that you may not be aware of.

The next step is to remind yourself that you have come a long way!

Now that you have pinpointed your negative cognitive assumptions, it is time to practice some positive self talk.

Tell yourself right now, (out loud is even better...) that you are doing a good job with this plan, and that you are proud of yourself for making a change.

Change is not easy. If you have come to this website, and have come this far in this plan, it is because you have realized that a change is necessary.

That puts you one step ahead of most people with bipolar disorder.

Change is stressful, but you are sticking with it. That means you are beating your anxiety.

Practice more positive self talk as you go through the rest of your day.

Remember to do your journal entry, and relaxation techniques before bed.
